Baked Chicken Parmesan
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil for brushing
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a shallow bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Coat each chicken breast with olive oil, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
