Baked Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast with olive oil, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  4. Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven, spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
